18KARAT | WHOLESALE

18KARAT LOS ANGELES SHOWROOM

I spent a productive and exciting day down in LA last week to help finish setting up 18KARAT's newest showroom with our new friends at Dillon-Wells, Lance and Eva. Prior to my visit I had sent Lance a rough floor plan diagraming how our products should be displayed from ground to ceiling and wall to wall. I will be honest and unveil that prior to my arrival they had already put in all the physical "hard work" so I cannot take full credit for how great the showroom looks!

I'm very pleased to have Dillon-Wells as part of our team and look forward to developing a relationship with them as we both strive forward. We are continuously building new relationships and I'm excited to see our wonderful friends in new places become part of our growing family. Again, I would like to give many thanks to Lance and Eva for all their hard work, dedication and belief in our story and cause.

Here we are LA! Come visit the Dillon-Wells team in their Los Angeles showroom to connect and get a closer look at 18KARAT. Click here for a sneak peak.

SPRING/SUMMER 2013 COLLECTION LAUNCH

18KARAT’s 2013 Spring/Summer collection explores the connections that lie between our bodies, water and nature. Water is the lifeblood of the earth. It is ancient and unchanging. Our bodies are fed by it and all nature grows from it. But just as much as it has the ability to create it can also destroy. It erodes stone and cuts deep chasms into the earth. It continually shapes our world. Throughout history we have connected with water through vessels, whether cupped hands, bowls, jugs or cups.

This collection is infused with ancient vessel shapes. The most repeated form is a small bowl that relates in scale to cupped human hands. This bowl is represented in a myriad of materials such as wood, metal, stone, clay, glass and natural fibres. Each one exploring an element of the earth.

HIGH POINT MARKET 2012

We're excited to be exhibiting in North Carolina at the High Point Market show from October 13th - 18th, 2012 in the Straaton Showroom, D320. For more information regarding the show please visit the official website here.

FALL/WINTER 2012 COLLECTION LAUNCH

NOURISHMENT. Every one of us needs it. 18KARAT’s Fall/Winter 2012 collection encompasses reflections of natures harvest.

As our urban lifestyles take over our sense of self we tend to forget about the roots of our being. We lose our connection with the ever giving Earth. 18KARAT brings us back home with products grounded in nature. This season's inspiration arose from the mind shift of summer to fall, getting ready to bundle up yet reap the rewards of the summer Earth’s harvest.

This collection speaks of a materiality. It is designed to draw out thoughts of how we are nourished by the Earth and how we are essentially products of what we eat. Each piece is delicately and thoughtfully designed to give any home a sense of grounding.

PANGAEA | STRONG, NATURAL, RAW

One of the greatest pleasures in gardening is finding the perfect accessory to complement your heart's labour. The Pangaea is everyone's delight. Like gardening it is the work of someone who has perfected their art through love, time and appreciation. Standing strong, natural and raw, it looks like an artifact dug up from an archaeological site. Although handmade, it tells a story of natural beginnings. The eroded finish is fascinating. A stunning accessory for any gardener, indoor or out.

COLLECTION "ONE" LAUNCH

Thank you to all those who came out to 18KARAT's South Granville Home Store for the launch of ONE; Spring-Summer 2012 Collection. A combination of sunny weather, food, wine, music, friends, and family made this event a memorable one. We are grateful for the continued support from our South Granville neighbours and energy from our dedicated staff to make this event possible. With bold bursts of colours from collection ONE, we hope to bring our products to life by sharing their stories. Our new journey has just begun.

HOMESTORE GRAND OPENING

Visit us at 3039 Granville Street April 12th from 6-8pm for the launch of ONE Spring-Summer collection and the Grand Opening of our store. ONE marks the rebirth of Vancouver based 18KARAT. Under the new artistic direction of Kenneth Torrance the brand has been infused with a fresh take on 18KARAT's longstanding roots in nature and storytelling.

ONE is punched with themes of rebirth in dramatic bursts of grass, poppy and canary. Classic whites, grays and ink tones fill out the collection, speaking of storytelling and the journey. Some of ONE's key pieces are Antidote bottles, Chapters vases and Epoch brass bowls. Reminiscent of old gin bottles, Antidote vases are a perfect balance of modern and nostalgic. Chapters' forms hold true to 18KARAT's classic elegance while their ridged texture is reminiscent of stacked books. Epoch's rich, hand pounded surfaces exemplify ONE's mission to share stories of materials, the people who have made them and the people who connect with them.

18KARAT's passion for simple design inspired by nature and traditional crafts has sparked a timeless collection.

IDS TORONTO 2012

18KARAT is proud to have showcased along with 300 other exhibitors at this year's Interior Design Show Toronto, Canada's largest contemporary design fair. Our simple, yet playful and elegantly designed booth included a colourful feature wall composed out of this year's Spring/Summer catalog entitled, ONE, which starts our journey off bold.

Attracting hundreds of visitors and designers, young and old, it was apparent that our booth stood out from the rest in a calming and refreshing way--truth to materials, attention to texture, colour and detail. Our booth communicated comfort and warmth, sensible design, and innately expressed our connection to Vancouver's lush, natural environment, a constant source of inspiration for us here on the west coast where mountains and water surround us.

Our second appearance at IDS Toronto has yet again captured the attention of visitors and customers alike who appreciate and strive for high-quality home products designed for contemporary lifestyles. It is our ongoing mission to communicate 18KARAT's core philosophy through our product line by designing with timeless, elemental materials and understanding the intrinsic value in keeping traditional craft methods alive.
