Kenneth Torrance | Creative Director

Kenneth oversees the creative team, guiding new product development, business strategy, marketing and overall vision. He is also a Graphic Designer, Artist/Painter and Product Designer. His paintings are available exclusively through 18KARAT. Kenneth is a graduate of Emily Carr University of Art + Design.

Peter Cardew | Architect

Principal of Peter Cardew Architects, Peter is recognized as one of the most important contemporary Canadian architects of our time. He has designed numerous homes, institutional and commercial buildings that have received recognition through international awards and publications. Peter was born and educated in England. His work has been described as “beautifully simple and relentless”. Peter has worked on many projects for 18KARAT, including furniture design. 

Zoe Garred | Designer 

A Product Designer, Artist and Ceramicist, Zoe is passionate about working with natural materials, and creating elegantly simple, useful objects.
 Zoe is curious about what makes items timeless and explores this in her work, hoping to design pieces that will be treasured for many years. Zoe has exhibited all over the world from NYC to Tokyo to London. She holds degrees in Industrial Design from Emily Carr University of Art + Design and in Painting from the University of Calgary.


Jonathan Igharas | Designer

Jonathan is a Product Designer, Artist and Multimedia specialist passionate about traveling, cycling and DJing. Drawing upon his eclectic world journeys, Jonathan has developed a cross-cultural interest and understanding of the hybrid opportunities that exist between indigenous craft and contemporary design. He sees 18KARAT as an ideal place to make, travel and play with a purpose. Raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina, Jonathan is an Industrial Design graduate of Emily Carr University of Art + Design.

Daniel Buchannon | Display Artist 

Daniel began his career painting windows for Holt Renfrew before moving into a position on their display team. He now works as a freelance display artist for many of Vancouver's luxury goods stores including Hermes, Tiffany, Ferragamo, Burberry and 18KARAT. Daniel draws inspiration from nature, travel and urban environments. He is passionate about good clean design. His artistry is in taking elements and arranging them in a beautiful and engaging way. Daniel works with 18KARAT's creative team in visual presentation for their retail stores, showrooms and trade show booths.
